That's a Wrap! (2016)
That's a Wrap is an Easter egg packaging concept from a collective effort with illustrators from the University of Edinburgh. It features reuseable packaging where the fabric wrap can be kept and used for other purposes. It is inspired from a survey which just over 90% of the respondents would consider purchasing Easter eggs with reuseable packaging. The packaging is split into two main components, the frame and the fabric, which are purchased in conjuction.
The frame and the aluminium foil are the only parts of the packaging that is disposed, hence we want this element of packaging to provide the most protection for the egg from impact with the least amount of material possible. We developed the idea of a frame or bracket to protect the egg by placing it inside which can be removed easily by splitting the frame by tearing along a dotted line at the top. We thought creating a frame that adheres to the form of the egg would appear more consistent overall and reduce its footprint when it is transported and shelved.
The fabric wrap is the other component the user uses to wrap up the easter egg as a gift and carry around with ease. It can be reused as a small shopping bag or fashion accessory.
